Turner's 4th Birthday & Gus meets the family

Turner got some sweet new golf clubs for his birthday. When I pulled them out to show him, his face went from "What awesome thing am I gonna get!?" to "awwwww man!"

He said "I don't want golf clubs. I want a toy" After we showed him the clubs were not daddy's clubs and were his size, he was ok with it. Still, something as a parent in me says that you should get your kid something that cost $10 and that's going to be thrown away in a week, just to see their happy little face when they open that present.

Once we go out on the course together shank a few balls, drive around in the golf cart and get hot dogs for lunch I know it will be some awesome memories (at least for me anyway). Still, that Hotwheels track is calling at target....

Turner holds his new baby brother

Turner has been really great with his "new baby brother." He was really exited to take donut holes to school on Tuesday with a picture. Things are going great. It doesn't hurt that Gigi is here for a couple weeks and we've had friends and family stop by and offer all sorts of help. Sometimes, at Turner's bedtime, we all sit together and read a couple books while snuggling under the covers in Turner's bed. It's awesome. This video is just before such an occasion.

Gustavus Allan Ring

At 9:48am on January 23, 2009 (2009! whoa! I'm old!) our second son, Gustavus Allan Ring was born. He's rad. He has a lot in common with his older brother. First off, he's rad (did I already mention that?) second, he has lots of hair and a really great appetite.

For those who don't know Gus was born at Baylor Hospital (where Ash works). The staff has been wonderful.

Ashley and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful support system and such awesome friends and family. We couldn't have done this without all of you!

It's a boy!

The name of the blog will have to change because Turner has a new baby brother! Gustavus Allan Ring was born at 9:48am this morning. He weighed 7lbs. 5oz. And was 21.5" long. Pictures to come later! Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

Ashley took Turner to the neighborhood Christmas party and got this picture of him with Santa Clause (not the real Santa of course, this guy is just a stand-in). You never know how a 3 year-old is going to react but I think Turner must have thought this was pretty cool. Turn's been a little under the weather recently but that doesn't stop him from wanting build pillow forts. Too small for Daddy, but that's what makes them so fun, right?

I think not. These are Turner's new school pictures. When Ashley saw them she told me they were great. She was wrong. THEY. ARE. AWESOME!

Ashley was off last Saturday. She had the brilliant idea to go to "Reptiles!" at the Science & Nature Center. Guess which thing Turner did.
