Lotus (Charlie & Becky Weber's adorable daughter) got Turner an iPod for his first birthday...sort of. It's a little bigger than Dad's iPod but he has cooler songs - like "itsy bitsy spider"...

The family went to the Arboretum yesterday and had a blast. Ashley and I both forgot that it was Spring Break for all the local schools so it was a bit crowded to say the least. But Turner did manage to make his way into a game of "tag" with some big kids.

Although, now I think he's a bit confused as to what grass really is. The grass at the Arboretum is like a perfect soft green carpet. While the (so-called) grass at home is not soft, nor is it carpet-like and certainly isn't green.

Yeah, I know he's not standing on his own in this picture but Ashley and I have been neglecting our duties as primary picture takers. But I know it's been a while since I posted a picture and I didn't want anymore hate mail....

Turner is a great deal of fun nowadays. Ashley and I have to be really aware of his surroundings because he's preatty diabolical & mischevious. He gets into everything but at the same time is really developing a really rad personality.

He's a good boy. Never really cries. He can be cruzin' around and I can pick him up, close his curtains and put him in his crib and before he hits the mattress he's got his thumb in his mouth ready for his nap. It's really quite remarkable.

I don't think Turner has seen it rain in Texas. My yard looks like Beirut. Just imagine this picture in a field of really green grass and Blue Bonnets.

Turner's been crawling for a only a couple of weeks but you'd never guess it. He's a pro. He's also learning how to pull-up and, more importantly, get back down. Which right now consist of just letting go and hoping for the best. Usually he lands on his butt and he's cool with that.

Grandma came over for a while. It's great that Turner is starting to remember people and feel more comfotable around family. He's a ripper.

I want my son back

This thing I have now crawls around all over the place and I can't keep track of him. This thing that I have now keeps pulling up on the couch and drooling on the cushions. This thing that I have now is standing up in his crib after his naps.

After trying to teach him to crawl (if you can "teach" such a thing) I know realize that was a mistake. I now find myself yearning for those long forgotton days (of a couple weeks ago) when he would chill in the living room and play with some toys quietly. Now, after leaving him alone in the living room for 2 minutes, I come back in and see him hanging from the ceiling fan with one hand and holding the cat in the other.

I debating whether or not we should teach him anything else...maybe we can teach him to fold his own laundry - and that's it.

Turner's crawling around like a madman nowadays so you really have to an eye on him at all times. He'll also pull up un the couch from time to time just to show off.
